Frequency of Gratitude and Your Health
Being grateful falls on the same level as love — it is one of the highest vibrational frequencies you can be at. The more time you can spend in gratitude and love, the more your body's frequency raises and the healthier your body becomes.
We are all familiar with the feeling of gratitude - that warmth in your belly, that sturdiness in joy, that peaceful contentedness with the moment you are in right now. However gratitude manifests in your body, it’s one of the most intoxicating, healing, and warm feelings to course through us. Yet, the unfortunate truth is that the majority of people rarely experience that feeling - that full body tingling energy of love.
And when they do, it’s after the fact; gratitude is often experienced in tandem…
in tandem with perspective
Now that I see how my life has played out, I am grateful for that experience…
in tandem with receiving
I am grateful for this gift (duh)
in tandem with accomplishment
Now that I’ve accomplished my goal, I’m grateful for all the obstacles that made me strong enough to get here
in tandem with ‘success’
Now that I’ve fulfilled this parameter of ‘success’, I am grateful for the trials and tribulations, the fear and doubt, the moments in the ‘pre-success era’.
But, what we’re all searching for - that feeling of lightness - is in the gratitude for this moment; gratitude before the fact.
What if we conditioned our body to feel gratitude before an outcome - despite any external circumstance, accolade, or gift? What if we were able to genuinely cultivate this feeling in response to our life right now?
In response to filling your lungs with crisp air.
In response to feeling the sun on your face.
In response to hugging someone you love.
When you are marinating in a feeling of gratitude, that’s when you are able to access the truth. That’s when you are a conduit for your higher self to come through and take up residency in your body; the self that is more compassionate, more forgiving, more enlightened, more conscious of how to more lovingly show up in the world.
And funnily enough, when you are resonating at the frequency of gratitude - at the frequency of love - you are, overtime, going to transform your life as you know it. You are going to begin to effortlessly create more of what you think you are waiting for (in this moment) to feel gratitude.
By creating the habit of gratitude, you develop the ability to cultivate the feeling of gratitude (and all the health benefits of existing at that frequency) in any moment. Take a moment to conceptualize what a powerful tool that is!
So how do you create a habit of gratitude, you ask?
By starting small. Focus on taking small consistent steps everyday. So, I’m not saying stand up tomorrow at Thanksgiving Dinner with the world’s longest speech about what you’re thankful for (unless you feel called to do so… by all means).
But, there are little habits you can try adding to your day. Overtime, these small shifts - this little habits - change the way you think, how you feel, how you look at the world, and thus, the actual world you experience around you.
Try out one (or a few) of these gratitude practices to see which resonate with you. Again, start small - start with adding just a few mins of gratitude practice into your day and go from there.
*I highly recommend adding at least one into your morning routine; you’ll begin to notice a HUGE difference in the way you are able to perceive, and thus, respond to what life throws at you.
Gratitude journal : journal three things you are grateful for every day
Say thank you to your body after a workout, after a large meal (*cough cough, thanksgiving dinner*)
Gratitude meditation - check out my new 5 min morning gratitude meditation here!
The appreciation game - set a timer and start naming things / people you appreciate in your life. Don’t stop until the timer goes off
Help someone in need
Participate in random acts of kindness
Start to jot down all the small things that go right in your day (ie: no line at the coffee shop, a green light, someone holding the door open for you, turning on the exact podcast with the message you needed to hear) … tune into the millions of ways the universe is stealthily conspiring for you.
Like any other habit, it may feel uncomfortable at first. It may even feel downright difficult to think of let alone truly feel this kind of gratitude. So, again, start small - try 5 mins in the morning directly after an already solidified habit you have (like brushing your teeth). Or, try just a minute a few times a day (this consistency will help familiarize yourself and your body to what it means to cultivate a feeling of gratitude instantaneously).
